Testbeds are where the innovation of the Industrial Internet of Things – new technologies, new applications, new products, new services, new processes can be initiated and rigorously tested to ascertain their usefulness and viability before go-to-market. Focus lies in testbeds of medium duration (12 to 24 months) and testbeds that must demonstrate interoperability within an ecosystem of more than one technology, e.g. within 1+1 end user trials or even facility-wide trials.
